ArtVerse, Paris’s leading cultural hub for digital art and Web3, founded by Sebastien Borget and Arthur Madrid of The Sandbox, is excited to present its upcoming exhibition, “Love & Death”, Solo Show by Digital Artist ALIENQUEEN. The exhibition, running from February 14th to 28th, explores themes of self-identity, love, and resilience, deeply rooted in ALIENQUEEN's Cambodian refugee experience and her embodiment of the American Dream.

  • This exhibition,”Love & Death”, curated by Grida, Director at Artverse, is both a meditation on mortality and a celebration of life’s fragile beauty. Through surreal and unsettling visuals, ALIENQUEEN captures the tension between comfort and unease, transforming her experiences into art that seeks solace and connection. Her creations invite us to reflect on the complexities of existence, mourning the past while cherishing the present

ALIENQUEEN’s journey from a lonely immigrant child to a celebrated global artist is a testament to resilience. She has redefined the American Dream - turning hardship into purpose and darkness into art. Yet, her focus remains deeply personal, rooted in the sotires of love, grief and identity that shaped her.

This exhibition goes beyond telling her story - it offers a space for us to engage with these questions and see our own lives reflected in her work. Her works remind us of the fragile beauty of existence and the enduring value of love and survival. The exhibition will be on view at Artverse Gallery from February 14th to 28th, 2025.

  • Our sense of self is intricate and multifaceted. It shapes who we are, influences what we do, and connects our past, present, and future. For artists, this concept holds even greater significance. It not only defines their perspective but also transforms their artistic expression. AlienQueen is a perfect example of this.

Born in a Thai refugee camp to parents who survived the Cambodian Killing Fields, her life began in the shadow of death: a genocide that claimed a quarter of her homeland’s population. The weight of her family’s survival and the stories of a lost homeland shaped her identity, leaving her to grapple with grief, isolation, and the search for meaning.

As a child, ALIENQUEEN found refuge in her imagination picturing beings beyond humanity - aliens - while feeling estranged from the world around her. Yet, it was in the raw, defiant spirit of punk and street culture that she discovered a new freedom. This libration ignited her creative journey, leading her to express the pain and longing buried within her through art.

Her works are not simple images - they are confessions etched in color and line, a vivid dialogue between life and death. Drawing from the tragedies of her Cambodian heritage and the resilience of her own survival, ALIENQUEEN’s art reflects on profound questions: What does it mean to live? What does love leave behind? Can beauty exist in the shadow of loss?

Bridging Art & Fashion

Before this exhibition, ALIENQUEEN had already collaborated with Gucci, Snoop Dogg, and Ubisoft, while her artwork has been auctioned at Sotheby’s, securing her place in the global art world. This time, she will expand her artistic narrative by unveiling XTAL, her own brand-new apparel and jewelry line. XTAL is a lifestyle brand designed for eccentrics, skaters, goths, alien enthusiasts, and anyone unafraid to stand out. With XTAL, AlienQueen offers fans and collectors a way to carry her artistry beyond the gallery and into their everyday lives .

  • Bridging Art & Fashion

This dual presentation of fine art and fashion speaks to the exhibition's broader vision: to unite diverse creative disciplines and audiences. By merging both, ALIENQUEEN bridges the gap between the art and fashion worlds, creating a dynamic experience that aligns with Artverse’s mission.

The very name “ArtVerse” reflects this ethos. By combining “art” and “verse,” it represents a universe of multidimensional artistic expression, where the boundaries between digital and physical creativity dissolve. The concept of moving from “URL to IRL” (digital to physical) is at the heart of Artverse's mission to connect art, culture, and technology in transformative ways.

“ArtVerse aims to become an iconic venue in France and worldwide for the cultural and technological scene,” says Sébastien Borget, co-founder of ArtVerse. “Open to everyone, anyone can explore Web3 through artistic and cultural projects such as music, dance, fashion, design, learning about blockchain technology, and meeting artists through communities, workshops, panel discussions, and seminars. We help people acquire their first digital artworks and NFTs with regular exhibitions and international artists.” - Sébastien Borget, Co-Founder of Artverse.
