Prompt Magazine is proud to collaborate as a cultural partner with visual artist Martin Romeo for the new edition of The Sound of This Place, the international artist residency organized by Ypsigrock and produced by the Glenn Gould Cultural Association, that, since 2021, has explored the sonic identity of the Sicilian territory, translating it into both musical and visual works.

  • The 2025 of The Sound of This Place edition brings together artists from different corners of the world:

    Tara Nome Doyle
Irish-Norwegian singer-songwriter and composer, known for her ethereal voice and deeply emotive songwriting that blends folk, chamber pop and experimental elements.
    Massimo Silverio
Italian singer-songwriter whose work draws from regional traditions and contemporary composition, blending the Friulian language with intimate soundscapes.
    Priyaji (Noni-Mouse)
British music producer of Indian origin, active in the UK experimental electronic scene, known for her introspective, genre-blending compositions and sound design.
    Martin Romeo
Italian-Argentinian visual artist whose transmedia practice explores the intersection of nature, technology and the human condition through interactive sculptures, virtual reality performances, and multimedia installations.

The result of their collaborative process will be unveiled in an exclusive world premiere collective performance on Thursday, August 7, during the 2025 edition of the festival.

  • Ypsigrock – Boutique Festival d’élite in Sicily

Ypsigrock is Italy’s first boutique festival and a landmark event for indie culture enthusiasts across Europe.

Held every year in the enchanting medieval town of Castelbuono (PA), nestled in the Madonie Mountains and just a short distance from the sea, the festival has become a true cultural destination.

Over time, Ypsigrock has evolved into a tourist attraction, a moment of connection and creativity—so much so that it’s often described as a state of mind.

Founded in 1997 by a group of local youths with the aim of bringing alternative artists beyond the usual circuits, Ypsigrock is now an established name on the international scene, beloved for its intimate atmosphere and carefully curated lineups.

Additional pop-up stages are scattered throughout the town streets and inside the courtyard of the Castle, at the Museo Civico di Castelbuono, with which Ypsigrock has maintained a close partnership since 2014. Thanks to this collaboration, during the evening concerts at the Ypsi Once Stage, the castle façade becomes a canvas for a specially commissioned video artwork created by an artist selected by the museum.

This transforms the architectural symbol of Castelbuono into a grand and evocative visual surface during the festival nights. Moreover, each year since 2014, the castle’s atrium has hosted one of the official acoustic shows in the festival’s lineup—an intimate and special performance made possible through the ongoing collaboration with the Museo Civico.
