Curatorial Guidelines

We are particularly interested in works that align with the principles of Critical Fashion – AI Fashion Design, a research module focused on the dematerialization of fashion and how traditional design workflows can be reimagined in the digital era.

Guided by the Japanese concept of Mottainai, this approach reflects on how to honor the cultural and creative value of fashion while avoiding the waste of physical resources, data energy, and human creativity. Artificial intelligence is both a design tool and a subject of critique—opening new pathways for virtual craftsmanship while raising urgent ethical and aesthetic questions.

This invitation, centered on Mottainai and Critical Fashion, aims to create a coherent dialogue between guest artists and the student group, enriching the final exhibition with diverse perspectives on sustainable and dematerialized fashion.
